Download PosterThis talk discusses discusses the critical upcoming elections in Turkey in light of the "ghosts of elections past," the forces, patterns and people that will before and after November 1st when the citizens of Turkey go once again to the polls help us make sense of what we will see.
F. Michael Wuthrich is Assistant Professor and Director of the Global & International Studies Program at KU. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2011. Dr. Wuthrich lived and worked in Turkey for 9 years. His publications have appeared in the the International Journal of Middle East Studies, Middle East Journal, and Turkish Studies, among others. His book, National Elections in Turkey: People, Politics, and the Party System was released from Syracuse University Press in August 2015.

On Thursday, 29th of October, the Institute of Turkish Studies hosted distinguished professor Dr. Michael Wuthrich for a talk on his book "National Elections in Turkey". In the talk, Dr. Wuthrich gave a historical account of elections and political campaigns in Turkey highlighting the reflections on today`s politics. We thank Dr. Wuthrich and our lovely attendees for this lovely talk!
